Short Notes – Sen. Saxby Chambliss, GA Retiring

220px-Saxby_ChamblissThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that two-term Senator Saxby Chambliss will announce his decision not to run for reelection in 2014.

I am disappointed that Chambliss will not be running as he is one of a few moderates on either side of the aisle who has expressed interest in working on bipartisan solutions to our nations problems.

The people of Georgia have been well-served by Chambliss.

Short Notes – Republicans, Stupid Party

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal Speaks In WashingtonLast night  Louisiana Republican Governor, Bobby Jindal gave a speech in Charlotte, NC.  The speech given to the Republican National Committee.

In the speech Jindal layed out his plan for moving the party forward and advised that the Republicans need to “stop being the stupid party” if they want to have a future in American governance.

Bravo to Jindal.  The sooner the Republican Party moves away from the Washington philosophy of do-nothing, oppose everything “leadership” the better they will be.

The Republican Party needs to turn its back on the ignorant and begin embracing Governors like Jindal, Christie, Deal, Haley and others if they want to have any future in the national debate.

Text of speech may be found below.
