When you thought the United States Government couldn’t be any more despicable…. there is this.
The United States House Gym is deemed as “essential” and stays open and Democratic Congressman Bruce Braley from Iowa is upset that the towel service isn’t being offered….. really Congressman!?!??! Check it out here. But before you jump on Congressman Braley for expecting towel service, just know these hardworking elected officials pay $260 ANNUALLY to join. That’s over $20 a month people., the Congressman SHOULD be upset that his towel isn’t being laundered!
Question of the Day: SERIOUS QUESTION….. can you name one lawmaker at the Federal level, US Congress or President of the United States that you consider a patriot? If so, please tell me who they are and why you feel this way.

In response to the Patriot Question.
One. Her name – Tammy Duckworth,
I think she Represents a district from Illinois.
Reasoning: She was an Army Helicopter pilot, shot down over Iraq. She left both of her legs lying over there somewhere in the desert. She came home, and literally – without a leg to stand on – decided she needed to go to Washington D.C. and kick some ass. I’m sure that she has faced many set backs as our representation system seems to have stacked the deck in favor of who’s been there the longest, not to mention she is in the minority party in the H.R. which almost assuredly presents a challenging work environment. Yet she is there, fighting for what she believes to be right and just for an America that she almost died fighting for. She straps on two artifical limbs every day and takes a stand. That is more than most of the rest of us do.
I accept that and agree.
First two that come to mind are Paul Ryan and Dennis Kucinich. Ryan because he has proposed serious and specific plans to get the budget under control and endured some pretty vicious attacks with reasonably good grace. Kucinich because–although I disagree with his politics almost without exception–he is true to his beliefs and willing to engage in honest debate on substance.
In my virew they are both too entwined in their own party politics which becomes more important than their ideals. I think the biggest problem in DC is the two party system and the Reps you mention are career politiicians who hold the nation captive with party BS.
I respect and appreciate your opinion, I just disagre.
‘S okay. I respect, appreciate and disagree with you, too.
I can see a case against Ryan since he represented the party in the last election, I also think he has original and interesting ideas on his own. But its hard to finger Kucinich as a party line guy. Shoot, he was considering bringing impeachment procedures against Barack Obama for bombing Libya without authorization when he [Kucinish] lost in a redistricting primary to Marcy Kaptur (a true party hack). Whatever the merits of his ideas, he always seemed true to his ideals.
why can’t Washington debate like Americans? with civility
